Ashlar Stone Rebuild,
Birmingham
The client and architect of this new build commercial building in Birmingham had wanted ashlar stone feature work high up on several columns.
As an alternative that saved weight from the building and avoided the long lead time of the required masonry stone we recreated the look (and feel) of real masonry stone on a breeze block and brick base. Undistinguishable from real masonry stone, this enabled the build to carry on against tight deadlines and also saved considerable cost against installing real ashlar stone pieces. It was also much easier and safer given the height and positioning of the build. |
