Covid-19 Update :
Business As Usual.
Updated 5th November 2020
We suspended site operations on 24th March 2020 due to the outbreak of Coronovirous Covid-19 across the UK so that we could protect our employees and customers.
On the 11th May 2020 we started the process of recommencing our operations on both building sites and private properties across the UK where it is safe to do so.
The UK has re-entered a planned 28 day lockdown period as of Thursday 5th November but this has not affected Remedial Repair operations and we continue to trade and work on both private properties and building sites across the UK as usual.
We have however introduced a number or practices and procedures in order to keep our employees and customers safe throughout this period.
Additional PPE
All our technicians have been issued with and are wearing the appropriate additional PPE and are practising social distancing wherever possible.
All Remedial Repair Technicians have now been issued with additional PPE and Covid-19 protection. In addition to standard site PPE of goggles, hard hat, gloves, safety boots and trousers they now carry with them for their use :
They will use this additional equipment as they wish in order to protect themselves and others from the threat and spread of Coronavirus Covid-19, as well as when sites demand and request certain levels of PPE protection.
This is for their personal use and protection, as well as for them to use to sanitise any tools and/or materials that they may come in to contact with on sites.
Social Distancing and Process Changes :
All our technicians are sanitising their own tools and working materials at the beginning and end of each working day.
On Monday 11th May the Department for Business, Energy & industrial Safety issued a Working Safely During Coronavirus (COVID-19) guide for Construction and Other Outdoor Work and this has been issued to all our technicians and forms the basis of our working practices throughout this period.
You can view this here.
We will only work on building sites that are following these guidelines and have the necessary procedures and practices in place.
When working on private properties we should be able to ensure that we are compliant. Our technicians will only work on the outside of properties, maintaining social distancing throughout, and keeping themselves and our operations self contained as much as possible.
In order to eradicate unnecessary contact, our project job sheets do not need to be signed during this period. Your Remedial Repair technician/s will take pictures and video of work completed on site and you will be asked to email confirmation of work completed to your satisfaction.
If at any stage our customers do not believe that our technicians are safe or are not following the necessary procedures then they should ask them to stop and leave site immediately.
Likewise, please do not be offended if our Technicians ask you to keep your distance or follow the governments guidelines for safe working through the covid-19 period.
If our technicians do not feel safe working on your site or property then they will leave and works will need to be rescheduled for after any issues have been resolved in order to meet the necessary safe working environment.
Remedial Repair operate throughout the UK and as such we rely heavily on the use of hotels for overnight accommodation.
Some hotels are closing during the second lockdown period and this can affect some of our work times and scheduling. We will keep customers with work scheduled informed of any changes or revised working schedules and any delays during works.
Any questions at anytime regarding planned works or scheduling please contact Remedial Repair on 0800 832 1935, Monday to Friday 8.30am until 6pm.
Our online store Remedial Works remains open at this time although deliveries are taking longer than usual.
Thankyou to all our customers for your continued support at this time.
Stay Safe.
