The Grade II listed 181 Tooley Street next door to Tower Bridge in the heart of London was the old St Olave's School.
Throughout 2016 and into 2017 it underwent a conversion into the new prestigious Lalit Hotel London. Remedial Repair were involved in the renovation of the building facade. We cleaned specific areas of the delicate brick and stone facade with a hot steam cleaning process to remove the affects of weathering and algae. |
Areas of the cleaned brickwork facade were then identified for further improvement to create the look of a refurbished facade that was still reminiscent of its age.
This included areas of brick and mortar tinting to create a natural aged brickwork blend. We also replaced and repaired numerous areas of brick and mortar and colour tinted it to create naturally blended brickwork. The result is a building facade that fits the area and the building as it should look at this point in its life, yet looking refreshed and sensitively renovated. |
