Brick tinting is a process of colour treating and tinting clay or concrete bricks in order to permanently change the colour of the brick.
The process has been active and in common use throughout the UK Construction industry for over forty years, largely used by brick manufacturers to correct manufacturing mistakes or brick work contractors once bricks have been built on site.
New brickwork must have been cleaned prior to commencement of work on site. Existing brickwork can simply be brushed to enable a clean surface.
A specialist combination of brick dyes and tints is created suitable for each specific application, mixed with 40% water prior to application. This is then applied individually to each brick to be treated. If required a combination of different colours can be applied for tinting to match multi coloured facing bricks. We can colour treat and match all brick colour pictures and multi finishes.
All liquid materials used are not harmful, both at the time of treatment and once the work is completed.
Before proceeding to treat a large area a small sample area is created first and a blow torch is used to dry this area in order to view the final finish, the overall brick finish taking 24-48 hours to fully dry depending upon weather/climate conditions.
Once the aesthetic colour finish is refined and approved by the client we proceed to colour treat the entire area, applying the colour treatment by hand and by brush to each brick individually.
Work length varies depending upon the amount of brickwork to be colour treated (SQM), the type of brick (colour/texture/absorption, etc), and the type of colour tint process (i.e., tinting dark to light and light to dark). Work length and time scales are established at quotation stage and are weather permitting. Brick tinting work cannot be carried out in temperatures below 5 degrees and wet weather.

The treated brickwork will weather as normal over time alongside the original adjoining brickwork, maintaining the match and colour blend as per the finished project. The treated brickwork is fully guaranteed for the life of the brick.
The Lifetime Guarantee is issued upon competition of the work on site.
